Day 1:
Phuntsholing ArrivalArrive in Phuntsholing. Will process the route permit if you reach before evening to Phunthsoling otherwise will postpone to next day. Dinner and night halt at Phunstsholing. |
Day 2:
Phuntsholing to ThimphuAfter breakfast will drive to Thimphu which is about 6 hours drive. Will have lunch on the way. After we reach Thimphu will check into hotel and in the evening will stroll in Thimphu town. Dinner and night halt at Thimphu. |
Day 3:
Thimphu SightseeingAfter breakfast will visit; Memorial Chorten which was built by Her majesty Ashi Phuntsho Choden in memory of her late son His majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuk ( (“the father of modern Bhutan”) the third king of Bhutan. Kuenselphodrang where you can see largest buddha statue in Bhutan which is about 169 feet tall. Then will visit Changangkha Lhakhang (Temple) the oldest temple in Thimphu. Followed by Folk and Heritage Museums, a fascinating testimony of Bhutan’s living traditions. Then will visit Zorig Chusum, where students are taught 13 arts and crafts of Bhutan. Then will visit Vegetable Market provided it falls on weekend. Towards evening will visit drive Motithang, and visit Takin Reservation where you will find Takin, the National animal of Bhutan native to only Himalayas. Then will drive towards Trashichho dzong, the beautiful fortress which houses most of the Government’s office and King’s Throne room. It is also the summer residence of Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot enroute will visit Nunnery at Zilikha. Night halt in Thimphu |
Day 4:
Thimphu to ParoHike to Tigers Nest. After early breakfast will drive to Paro. Will drive till Taktshang Base and then will hike to Paro Taktsang which is one of the most popular monastery visited by the tourist. It was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup, a cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three months in the 8th century. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) flew to this location from Khenpajong, Tibet on the back of a tigress and subdued a demon. He then performed meditation in one of the caves here and emerged in eight incarnated forms (manifestations) and blessed the place. Subsequently, the place came to be known as the “Tiger’s Nest”. Guru Padmasambhava is known for introducing Buddhism to Bhutan. Today, Paro Taktsang is the best known of the thirteen caves in which he meditated. In the evening will stroll in Paro town. Dinner and overnight at Paro. |
Day 5:
Paro to Phuntsholing and departureToday after breakfast will drive back to Phuntsholing. On thye way will stop at On the way will stop at Tagchogang, where you will find 15th century old iron chain bridge. Then will continue to Phuntsholing, and after reaching Phuntsholing our Guide wil bit farewell to you and your team. |
